Meet Our Team

Janey Nelson

Janey Nelson is the co-owner of Healthier You Counseling Center, a  Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has been a therapist for more than 15 years. She is a Master ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy) practitioner, one of the first in Utah. Janey is an adjunct professor of psychology at Utah Valley University (UVU)and has presented at both state and national conferences. One of Janey's passions is helping others discover their best self and she does this by running a variety of groups which include empowerment for women and teens, and due to family being so important to her, she runs Gottman and Layers of Love marriage groups. To add to all of her professional experience, Janey is a wife, mother, grandmother and worked as a foster parent for more than 22 years. For her work as a foster parent, Janey was awarded the State of Utah's Child Advocate of the year.

One of Janey's greatest beliefs is that it is important to love everyone, no matter the circumstances. Janey tries to show her love by practicing kindness, which she thinks is honest, assertive and real with respect and love. It seems to be this belief that helps Janey connect with her clients and develop bonds of trust between them. Janey loves to cook, enjoys nature and finds peace in jewelry making. Janey practices mindfulness in each of those activities which keeps her grounded and in touch with herself.

Harmony Packer

I am passionate about mental health. My favorite thing about being a therapist is the relief I see in clients’ eyes when they overcome challenges and find peace. When you seek therapy, you are making a courageous investment in your well-being. I work within the framework of your values and goals to help you find that relief and peace.

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is the foundation of my approach to therapy. I am also trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and play therapy. I take a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach, incorporating mindfulness, emotion regulation skills, and tools from other therapy models according to your needs. I have experience treating anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, behavioral issues, and trauma. I especially enjoy working with children, teens, and young adults. There is so much room for the trajectories of their lives to change for the better if they can learn how to be mentally healthy when they are young.

I seek to understand your experiences, values, hopes, and dreams, in order to best help you. Like a seed, we as human beings are meant to grow. My goal in therapy is to provide a warm and trusting relationship in which your growth can occur. I enrich my own life by spending time with my husband and sons, serving neighbors, and reading and learning. I also enjoy CrossFit, singing, listening to sports on the radio, and eating Thai food on a regular basis.

Shiray Sondrup

Shiray Sondrup is the co-owner of Healthier You Counseling Center, Certified Life Coach and Therapeutic Art Counselor. Her training and experience has allowed her to work with youth and adults for many years helping them   overcome obstacles and succeed.

With her desire and ability to work with the youth she helped local schools to create, facilitate, and run leadership programs that build a positive culture in the schools as well as develop student’s confidence and values.

Most recently her abilities were focused on developing and running empowerment groups for teenage girls. It is her passion to help young people thrive and see them realize their potential.

Shiray has also had the privilege of participating in groups that help local veterans recover from the trauma they experienced in war. She really enjoyed this time getting to know the soldiers on an individual basis.

She continues to manage and run a variety of retreats for women that focus on boundaries, self-awareness, leadership, and resiliency.

Shiray loves art and believes that the best time to discover who you are is when your hands are full. She considers being a wife, and a mother of four, her biggest accomplishments in life. She loves athletic activities and is a self-proclaimed foodie.

Siera Heaton

Siera believes great healing comes from the outdoors, from laughter, movement, and especially deep connection with loved ones. Her favorite moments in life are those that combine the outdoors, laughter, movement, and connection all in one. Siera received her bachelor's degree in the family life from BYU and is currently pursuing he master's degree in marriage and family therapy. She is PREP (prevention and relationship education program) trained facilitator and is a certified yoga teacher. She has developed a deep passion for helping people heal through yoga and meditation.

Kami Brimhall

Kami Brimhall is the newest addition to the team at Healthier You, and is a  graduate of UVU's MSW program. She's had many experiences working with a broad range of clients: elementary school children, hospice patients, and every age group in between. Most recently, she worked with young adults struggling with eating disorders, trauma, and other issues. Kami believes that we can be creative in our healing process and that journey can look different for everyone, and uses a person-centered, trauma-informed approach that highlights each person's individual strengths. Through all this, Kami is always ready to tackle any challenge, as she's learned that while therapy may be difficult, it can also be an incredibly enjoyable and rewarding experience.
